By this time, however, it had been over a year since the band had recorded the tracks, and by the time of its release, they had already decided to part ways.

Yeah, I don't really recall that well, but I think we started recording it in 67 or early 68, and it was released on January of 69.

We had already lost faith in just about everything and kind of broken up.

You know, the guys in the band wanted to play covers in the bars, and I wanted to keep writing, and I was settling down with the family at that point.

I got married in September of 68, and... we kind of went our separate ways.

Um, Davey and I continued playing out as Gandalf and, um, the other guys had, I think they had a band called Skyhook or something that they were playing around up in Rockland County.

And, um, then, you know, in, in January, all of a sudden, you know, we hear, hear our record being played on WNAW FM in New York, you know, um, which was the, the, premier underground quote-unquote station in New York City.

They had the idea of starting a studio only band called the Barracuda.

You know, when I was a teenager, we would go to the Alan Freed rock and roll shows in New York and see all the greats, you know, Chuck Berry and Little Richard and Jerry Lee and Bo Diddley.

And all the great harmony groups, the Moonglows, Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells.

A lot of the singing groups would have their own guitarists who'd come out and lead the band.

You know, when Elvis appeared, I know the kids in high school...

Didn't even know what a guitar was.

You know, I heard them talking about this guy that they saw on TV that was playing an instrument.
