And Warsfold and Jakovic and all of those names and Matera.

And they were all, you know, they're all gone down in Eagles folklore.

And they're still legends around that footy club.

Norm Smith medalists, you name it.

So my last role there was to look after the Indigenous cohort, which consisted of the great Peter Matera and Michael Long.

Just a couple of Norm Smith medalists? Just a couple of Norm Smiths.

But yeah, highly sought after, very difficult to get into.

Harley Reid, by the time his days are done and if he stays in Perth, could Harley Reid finish his career the greatest West Coast Eagle of all time? Yes, he could.

So then he's going to be better than Peter Matera.

He's going to be better than Glenn Jackovich.

He's going to be better than Ben Cousins.

So let's cast our minds back to the 1992 West Coast Eagles.

And you're likely to remember the heroics of Peter Matera, who kicked five goals off a wing in a Norm Smith medal winning performance in the grand final.

What you might not remember is the events that unfolded in the lead up to the flag.

So West Coast had travelled to Melbourne in round 23 that season.

No one mentioned Peter Matera, one of the all-time great finals players.

achievers, five and a grand final but at West Coast we had another bloke who goes under the radar because he doesn't like the publicity but his name is Tony Evans and we used to call him Mr. September because he'd go through the year and he'd get hurt and all that sort of stuff but in September he's just made every post a winner and I think in 92 he was the one holding the ball right at the end and threw it up in the air and then Maney jumped off the bench with his broken ankle even though it was broken and Mizzy charged out Yeah, great memories, great memories.
