Peter Lever

Yeah.

No, he came back out for the second innings and Peter Lever was bouncing the daylights out of him.

Well, that's what he just said then.

There was no pact.

The ball was just going, and Fruke Engineer was the wicketkeeper, you know.

And this fella's name is Peter Lever, who just became my hero.

And I said to Dad that day, that's who I want to be.

I want to be Peter Lever.

And Dad looked at an 11-year-old boy and said, yeah, right, you know.

And he was my hero.

I delivered his eulogy when he died a couple of years ago.

And that's kind of been how my life has moved on within... within cricket and i've been so lucky for that you know but peter was just such a lovely man who was kind of a bit surprised that he could possibly be anybody's hero it was one of those sorts of people you know lived a quiet life in cornwall um and and so that was again to see a game to at that age.
