Peter Gregory

I'm going to walk with him and pick his brain.

One of my all-time favorite Maple people, and I've said this a million times, but Peter Gregory.

I could just hang out with him for five hours and not even talk Maples.

He was one of the funniest people I ever met.

Um, I really enjoyed, like we went out to the countryside one day and he just drove me around with his dog and just had a blast.

And, uh, he's somebody I would love to hang out with again.

I mean, you know, he's deceased now and just a great, great legacy on the maple world with Peter Gregory.

But, uh, Yeah, he's somebody I could hang out with and not even talk trees.

I think that very politely spells out the problem we've got here.

Peter Gregory, who is an author we've had on many times, said, quote, "Open source was crumbling prior to the widespread adoption of AI." I have to agree with that, too.

"The vision of open source was that there would be numerous parties examining code for defects, while few actually do." And Steve, I'm just gonna throw this out.

It sounded great, open source, but I just kept thinking, "Who's paying all these people to do this work?" I mean, it can't be just for the love of it alone.
