... um, Writer's Essay will be there, and Peter Goldsworthy is going to be, um, one of our speakers.

Um, and we did have Peter in a smaller room, but I've just moved him to the Jubilee Complex, so we have a lot of tickets to sell.

and good on you know abc radio national um my favorite book is the cancer finishing school by peter goldsworthy don't let the title put you off peter is a wonderful poet and um he also got he's a doctor and he also got cancer are you still there yes yes yes yes i'm sorry it just went big buzz um and it's um really quite life-affirming even though it sounds like it's um depressing.

There's lots of wonderful tales about him being a doctor and also the fact that the cancer he got was a cancer that he missed in a patient many years before.

And he was thinking that it was like bad karma, but he was actually excited to write about what was happening to him.

So, for example, I really like the Franny Fisher series of detective novels by...

Kerry Greenwood.

But when you've read 14 of them, which one? Do you go for the first one? Do you go for your favourite one? Do you go halfway through? And there's a lot of writers, I mean, like Peter Goldsworthy or Helen Garner or Tim Winton, where people are going to be voting for multiple books and we don't quite know what's going to end up in the final 100.
