Peter Cappelli

Sherry Turkle has spent nearly 50 years studying how we relate to the machines we build going all the way back to the earliest personal computers.

She's an MIT professor, a licensed clinical psychologist, and the author of several landmark books, including Alone Together, which remarkably predicted over 15 years ago that we would eventually come to see robots and AI as companions worthy of real emotional investment.

At the time, that sounded almost like science fiction.

Today, it's simply the world we're living in already.

But, you know, these students that are going to MIT, these are valedictorians.

These are really super smart people.

And they're just dismissing a professor who's been on campus for over, you know, almost 50 years now.

It's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Okay.

Peter Capelli says most companies wouldn't know what to do with top talent if it landed in their lap.

And I do think he's right.
