And if they do, they don't really get a shot at the big league.

So I'm very happy that Peter Bendix kept him because he wasn't a Bendix guy.

He sort of, He was already there when Peter came over.

And so it's nice to see him not only be kept with the Marlins, but also get a legitimate shot to be a pivotal factor for this team going forward.

It's those

three, Dee Gordon, Hanley, Luis Arias.

And of those three, of these, I guess, potential four, Otto has to be the least, the smallest name of anyone, the least... expected right of a former two-time designated for assignment waiver pickup by peter bendix luisa rise so even the

last couple years when he's been successful last couple years combined it was 257 those last two years combined it was a little bit better than the league average and last year in particular he was down to 246 like this is a guy that brought a lot of value to the team despite not being like that quintessential pure hitter so for him to turn into that and still be able to run the base as well as still be able to play shortstop at a confident level.

Okay, now we got to account for... okay they started to tell off to the end what are the things we can do now now they kind of have an idea that that process worked but now how do we support that better next year you know what i mean

right yeah this is this is the third year of peter bendix but i really consider it sort of the second year because that first 2024 season he had to really completely dismantle what was uh there's a bad poorly constructed team um that came in handmade so like this is his second full year and they've been competitive into September both times and I I think next year there's going to start being some pressure on Peter to really just hone this philosophy or whatever philosophy it is because I think expectations are starting to grow and like I said kudos to him in his front office because this is a team that has Javier sonoha in it every single day it had Leo Jimenez has a bunch of really small names that are performing and winning 80 games Two years in a row, hopefully they can complete 80 wins this year.

But I do think that next year you're going to have to start seeing at least some changes made or at least they can't be tailing off in September again.

Some inconsistencies, but I mean, on the whole, I think you learned a lot about this group and the mindset that they carry.

And overall, given the payroll and kind of the bargain hunting that Peter Bendix and this front office have gone on, they've identified talent, they've developed some of it, and there's some real hope that the Marlins have something moving forward.

But it just seems as like at this point they're fading a bit away.

But hey, listen, every time we count this team out, they somehow manage to find a way to climb back in it and play some more meaningful baseball.

The Marlins, I actually like them just kind of as a long-term hope here.

But even with Peter Bendix, who has been a really good decision maker for the Miami Marlins, I think even then at times they still have not had a top 10 farm system.

They don't have a ton of talent down in the minor leagues.

They got a couple of guys that could pan out to be something, but overall, not the end of the world.

But also going back a little bit, you were drafted in 2021, so you're sort of pretty long tenured here in the Marlins organization.

I want to see if there's any differences that you've noticed betw- since Peter Bendix joined the organization and took over the baseball operation department, compared to when Kim Ng was running things.

Just any differences that you've seen organizationally or developmentally?

Um, I mean, I would say one thing is, like, we're, we're very keen on getting better, very keen on, you know, working on what the game's telling us.
