So just to go back to what you're talking about with the recording dates, you know, the situation is the Kinks is a family business.

run by Ray Davies and supported by his brother, who's more than just a support, and then really started with Pete Quaife, and then they added on Mick Avery in 1964.

But it's a very closed shop, and Ray was incredibly secretive about how they did things after the Shell Tommy period.

We had access to a variety of documents from Shell's own personal archive.
