I'd like to know, how did you get involved? You're just talking about the BBC there, so just so the listeners know a bit about you, what were you doing at the BBC?

Well, I spent... kind of 30 odd years working in radio full time.

It's what I wanted to do from kind of being a young teenager, really.

Did hospital radio at Within Shore Hospital.

So I'm from Manchester originally, all my family still live in Manchester.

And I started doing hospital radio and then was introduced to somebody who just needed like a crew in the studio with him, started doing stupid characters and jokes and sketches and things like that, and then got my own.

late night show in north wales and that was it then so i became like a full-time radio presenter working in commercial radio initially and what that meant was you just went where the work was so worked in north wales um worked and lived in bournemouth for a while brighton uh for a a little bit um and then in 2001, moved down to Birmingham and produced a breakfast show on a dance station called Galaxy and then got the chance to produce the breakfast show on Heart, which, of course, the Heart brand is now ubiquitous in radio.

Globally?

Mm-hmm.

But small bands were, were struggling.

And I'd kind of decided that the label had had enough, you know, had enough.

But I was do- from doing the label I started duplicating things for other people.

So I was making cassettes for other people, CDs for other people, um, because I had the skills, I suppose, and there I was in Norwich, and local bands would come along and ask me to do stuff.

And during that point, around that time, Tim moved to Norwich and, um, well, I was copying CDs for No Man to send out that they were selling on their mailing, mail order list.

And then at some point, what would it be? About 1999, 2000, Tim, you came along and said, "I've got this idea for doing a record label in a, but in a different way."So that we don't make up 500 copies of something.
