And, uh, it is a, a inhumane and sadistic environment.

Uh, the, the, the, um, he's one of thousands who is made to work building a 261-mile-long railroad through the Thai jungle, and, uh, it's, it, it's kind of like something out of Dante's Inferno.

The men are malnourished and emaciated.
