Um, so today, uh, as we know, marks 25 years since, uh, the attack on the World Trade Centers.

Um, and Pete Davidson, he spoke to the New York Post.

He gave them a few quotes.

Uh, for those of you guys who do not know Pete Davidson's father, uh, w- he lost his father in 9/11.

Um-

That's right.

But he was talking to the New York Post about how this year hits different, and it's not an audio, uh, interview or video, so you won't hear him.

Today will be a normal episode, but let's lead off with Pete Davidson, who is reflecting on his first 9/11 as a father, 25 years to the day after his own father, New York City firefighter Scott Matthew Davidson, was killed at the World Trade Center during the attacks.

Pete told the New York Post, "I thought, oh, he was an old guy.

He's 33." But now Pete's 33, and have a kid, and that would be like my kid not having her dad.

Who's a very funny comedian.

Julia in Hawaii saying she will pick up litter in her neighborhood, and Cesar in Tucson pledging to feed the homeless.

And this year, on the 25th anniversary, Pete Davidson, whose firefighter dad died on 9/11, is helping launch their Unite for Good campaign in hopes of inspiring one million good deeds.

You try to make the day a little bit lighter, but show up for each other.

I think my dad would've loved that.

Yes.

And what I'm trying to say is like, I would say the the era of comedy, you know, post-Trump kind of led to that where like you can't go to a maybe I'm maybe I'm just finding a way to make fun of Pete Davidson.

But it's like Pete Davidson's whole career was built on like my dad died.

And that's wrong.

But no, no, no, no, no. You're right.

And quickly as we wrap up, I did not know when it was cool to like joke about 9-11.

It was, it was, I want to say about 10, 11 years ago where I'm like, I heard my first 9-11, maybe it was Pete Davidson.

Cause you know, he's very dark humor.

So I can see that.

And just like that, it feels like in the blink of an eye that can all be stripped from us.

But I think we can all agree that all of these years later, the fact that we are now still forced to deal with Pete Davidson is a real problem.

Right.

And that is a that is one of those.

Sadly, that is one of those things that is probably an effect, a direct effect of 9-11.

And I remember there were years where Pete Davidson was in the news and everywhere always.

And then you kind of, he went by the wayside and got kind of quiet.

But then every single year you're like, oh yeah, Pete Davidson.

It is interesting.

Pete Davidson is out there, and he's going, I just don't know what I'm going to tell my daughter about my dad in 9-11.

I go...

Well, I mean, first of all, she's a baby right now.

And then the second thing, would you go Allah needed to punish America? And he did so in the most through through the grace of his the most devout supporters.

Pete Davidson, I say your grandfather was a hero.

He ran in those buildings, risking his life to save others.

The legend is everyone knows that that was this huge break that made him become mainstream.

I would say when Pete Davidson got on, people were like, who the fuck is this kid? And he just blew up after that.

But Eddie is an undeniable talent.

On that show, he was able to really capitalize what it is.
