Some of the examples on their website look so much better than images out of the iPhone because they were processed with what they did.

And, um, actually, our friends, colleagues from PetaPixel did a comparison, I think, using their Honor phone with their technology, with, uh, with the glass technology, comparing to the iPhone 17, and there is side-by-side, um, photos l- of the same subject that they did, and most of the, the ones with the Honor phone using the glass technology look so much better.

You know, it's like that's what useful AI looks like for me.

Yeah.

It's never been anything I've been obsessed with with lenses, but there's a whole subculture of people who are obsessed with perfect sun stars.

I have definitely fast forwarded through the Petapixel sun star sections before.

It's not my priority.

Well, there's one part of your review that I certainly didn't fast forward, and that was the film photography comparison with the new film modes.

The only other thing that I came across, and you guys can find it on Petapixel, is they've re-released a short documentary called The Eye of Science.

And it's a Nikon documentary about when they were making lenses, I think back in the 60s or the 70s is when it was filmed.

I have not watched his review yet, so that's exciting.

Uh, PetaPixel said the same thing.

I think Apple has told everybody that essentially, all, all the reviewers, that even though we expose for aperture, aperture, uh, sizes, it's adjustable, so third-party apps can pick whichever sizes they want, and apparently even during video you can smoothly change from one aperture to another without any stepping in between.

So I'm, I'm assuming they're getting this info from Apple now that I've seen it in two review videos.

Yeah, and, and I recommend the MKBHD review.

It, 'cause he actually goes and shows, like, the difference in aperture values and, and how it affects the photos, um, which I thought was very, was very, you know, good to see.

Um, I've also seen on, um, in PetaPixel's review, they noted that if you actually open it up to the widest open aperture, the new f1.48, which lets in more light, um, you do give a little bit in sharpness, and not just in the focal plane being shallower, but in the actual sharpness of the lens, that it is less sharp, especially outside of the center of the frame.

That's true.

So apparently the FCC is proposing a complete and total drone ban above and beyond what they've already done in the past in terms of like The DGI stuff.

So this is a story that I found on Petapixel.

And apparently the FCC has proposed a ban on importing and selling any foreign-made drones that it calls military-grade technology, citing a national security risk.

The public comment period just closed with over 3,800 comments filed.

Yeah.

I think PetaPixel said it was optically excellent, so.

Second story came from Petapixel and it says this...

Petapixel reported that an image taken by a Palestinian photographer of a soccer game in Gaza was removed from a sports photography festival following requests from outside sources.

with organisers saying that they did not want to offend anyone.

The picture, taken by Associated Press photographer Yehad Alsh-Rafi, was one of 300 photos being shown at the Deauville Sports Images Festival in France, which runs through September 6th.

Together, we intend to bring production of these critical components back to the United States.

I have this link in the show notes and it says, GoPro's founder promises it isn't done making consumer cameras.

This morning, GoPro's founder Nick Woodman published a letter on GoPro's website addressing concerns about the future of the company and how the choice to be acquired by Starman Optical will affect the products the company is best known for.

You would like to hope that it has the best technology on board.
