A stat that I always bring up is that the population of Petaling Jaya is bigger than the entire population of Perlis, and there isn't a single public hospital in Petaling Jaya.

So I think that is something that would perhaps put things into perspective.

Moving on to Bersama, the party plans to contest all parliamentary and state seats in Selangor at the next elections, with the ultimate aim of forming the state government.

Former Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chien Chung, who joined Bersama yesterday, said the party sees Selangor as a key base and intends to contest all parliamentary and state seats in the state at the next general and state elections.

Speaking on a Malaysi-Kini Chinese language podcast, he described the strategy as part of Bersama's three-phase electoral plan.

The first phase, he said, was what Bersama co-leader Afizi Ramli had described as a kamikaze mission, with candidates contesting seats without being overly concerned about whether they would win or lose.

PKR's Lee Chin Chong has resigned as the Petaling Jaya MP.

PKR's Lee Chin Chong has resigned as MP for Petaling Jaya.

He cited dissatisfaction with his party over several governance issues as the reason for his resignation and said that it takes effect today.

At a press conference today, Lee also revealed that PKR has suspended him for three years on September 30th, which he believes was linked to his outspoken views on several states and federal policy issues.

We are also training sites for medical doctors and specialist workforce, and also, uh, usually research institutions all at once, and the pu- the public benefits from all three roles.

For example, my hospital, UMMC, is the only public hospital in Petaling Jaya, okay? So without adequate funding for patient care, university hospitals are forced to increase fees, you know, um, which would burden our patients.

So hospital budgets or university hospital budgets should specify and should fund these three areas separately, patient care, clinical training, and research.
