Um, but also throughout the collection, there's lots of music and visual art that runs throughout, lots of phrases, poetry, you know, that's inspired by these pieces.
Melissa OliverGUEST
1:43
Um, we see Celine Dion, Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue, The Veronicas, Taylor Swift, Pet Shop Boys, Tori Amos, just to name a few, that are all these sort of cultural touchstones for us.
Melissa OliverGUEST

I actually created a playlist of all the music references I was picking up, and I know Chris has released his official playlist, but I also then went through and added my own music to my personal poetry collection that made me think, um, of, of the book as well.
Melissa OliverGUEST

Um, but I also think he is quite preoccupied with the idea of memory and the future, kind of what these poems are set against the backdrop of, like, the dance floor of bodies in the rooms and the places in a specific time.

Joe FaganGUEST

As Michael said, it comes down to particular priorities and particular issues and I'm a great believer that politics comes back to the issues.
Joe FaganGUEST
9:59
The there's a lot we have in common and as Michael says we've actually you learn all sorts of things about people on these hustings routes and people ask you the most peculiar questions to find out things about you that go far beyond politics and the rest of it so the world now knows that I'm a massive fan of the Pet Shop Boys but Michael already knew that because he hears it blasting out of my office every now and then but look politically look I think what I'm coming to this role with is a different kind of experience, and it's from a practical Labour tradition of delivery and local government.
Joe FaganGUEST
10:38
And I do think that a different perspective was needed in this campaign.
Joe FaganGUEST
10:42
I suppose when I originally saw what the shape of the campaign might be, when I was making up my mind to... to stand or not I saw Michael was obviously standing there was a possibility at that time that Monica Lennon might be standing as a candidate that didn't materialise and I thought there was space for somebody in between and actually somebody also had that perspective from outside Hollywood and I think for me that particularly right now that there is a bit of a people are looking at in a i suppose in a renewed sense of looking at municipal politics and we've just seen that politics of people in place that is quite important to me propel a new prime minister into downing street i think this is i don't think this is a passing fad i think there is something in this and there's something really special that we could capture here and challenge the way hollywood works and shake up scottish politics so in that sense i like i think i'm bringing something distinctive I want to, and we all want to win support for our ideas in this campaign.
