Here on Perth, Children's Aid Society is getting $831,000 from the provincial government for roof replacement and repairs.

Perth Wellington MPP Matthew Ray announced the funding at the Here on Perth Children's Aid Society office in Stratford this morning.

The money comes through the provincial government's partner facility renewal program.

Ray's office says the provincial government is investing over $25 million through the program this year for critical infrastructure.

Perth County OPP are investigating a collision that claimed a life just north of Fullerton on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services responded to the intersection of Perth Line 26 and Perth Road 163 in West Perth around 4 p.m. for a two-vehicle collision.

The driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead on scene.

The other driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to local hospital.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated, but was reopened later Friday evening.

That was the second fatal collision reported in Perth County on Friday.

An 89-year-old Stratford woman died in a collision near Dublin earlier that morning.

Perth County OPP closed part of Road 180 after a two-vehicle crash this morning.

Police say that just after 10 o'clock, the vehicles collided between Highway 8 and Line 39.

As well, Line 36 was totally closed between Roads 178 and Manly Road.

Perth County will welcome the addition of a medical priority dispatch system this fall.

Following a recent announcement of a similar system in Huron County, the system will now come to Perth County Paramedic Services and the London Central Ambulance Communication Centre.

Previous 911 call systems would dispatch ambulances on a first-come, first-served basis.

The new system will match available paramedic resources with a patient's condition, ensuring that the right paramedic resources are appropriately dispatched.

Power remains out this morning for hundreds in Huron and Perth.

Heading into the final long weekend of the summer, there is one Huron County beach deemed unsafe for swimming.

Huron-Perth Public Health found high levels of E. coli in the water at Ashfield Park Beach.

Beachgoers are advised to stay out of the water until the bacteria levels subside as going in could cause infections and stomach illness.

The beach will be retested today with results to be posted tomorrow.

The operator of a tractor suffered life-threatening injuries in a single vehicle crash west of St. Mary's.
