As soon as you hear that screeching in the intro, you know that this isn't World In My Eyes or Enjoy The Silence.

It probably belongs with Personal Jesus as both tracks share the same blues-inspired guitar riffs, but I Feel You is more aggressive.

It packs a punch and I feel that it introduces the new era perfectly.

I remember watching the European Top 20 Countdown on MTV Europe on a Saturday night.

Track three, Condemnation.

I read that Dave Gahan wanted Condemnation to be the lead single but was outvoted.

I think releasing it would have been a huge gamble and just because the gamble paid off with Personal Jesus doesn't mean that this would have received the same warm reception from the critics and fans.

I Feel You was a risk for the lead single, but saving Condonation for the third gives people time to fully warm up to the sound for the new era.
