Persona 4 Golden

This is fine.

I don't know whether or not it is a refining of the formula or just the raw materials of Persona 4 Golden to work off of, but everything felt more integrated, a little more deliberate.

The new voices are great.

I will miss old ones, but that's just the way of it.

... you know, beating Persona 5.

It wasn't Persona 4 Golden of like, "Hey, this one random line happens," so you have to keep fucking running this shit over and over again.

I think, what was our first platinum? It might've been Shadow of Mordor.

Because I had such a great time with Persona 5, I bought a bundle that had Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable in it.

And I've been playing a lot of Persona 4 Golden.

Persona 3 Portable was fine, but I saw that Persona 3 Reload was on sale, like the remake of Persona 3.

Was on sale so I picked that up and I've been having a great time with that as well.

I knew Jacob through, you know, the Vita games.

And he introduced me to games like Danganronpa and Persona 4 Golden.

And I believe also the Project Diva games, which were on the PSP, which I didn't know about at the time.

But they were also getting released on the Vita, I think, for the West for the first time, which was obviously very exciting.

Daniil introduced me to anime, which I did mention.

I think I mentioned it.

on every episode of our anime podcast go and check it out link is in the description i think or if you're listening on spotify it'll be on the recommended but anyway besides the point daniel would talk about this game danganronpa and i was like what is danganronpa and he was like yeah it's this game from japan um pretty cool they have they haven't fully translated it yet and he was talking about translations of games that haven't existed so they were like fan translations and people would have to patch them in which is kind of insane to think about but this was obviously very common as well instead it's quite common on the PSP because I remember there was a lot of visual novels around that time as well and obviously unique only to Japan and there was a lot of games that were being adapted from anime right so Toradora got a PSP game, Oreimo got a PSP game and there are a lot of forums out there and like you know people that were sharing the translations and I think I can't remember I think back in the day like I remember like only half of Toradora was being translated and I think Oreimo only had like one third of it being translated and now I think they're fully translated and you can find them online I'm not gonna say where but yeah it's pretty cool actually i'm not gonna lie but yeah these visual novels were being translated and i think also at the same time there was the world god only knows which is obviously a very popular anime at that time which focused on dating sims and visual novels and things like that and the main character had a psp and that was the whole thing but back onto the vita the vita for me was the heyday of the podcast right we're talking 2012 2015 up to 2015 let's say so many people within the games industry and fans were reaching out and suggesting games that i should play and i should talk about because of the vita i got experience games like criminal girls and senran kagura and akiva strip and danganronpa and persona 4 golden and persona 3 portable because i managed to purchase a persona 3 portable on the playstation store because the vita can actually play psp games but they have to be digital there was no backwards compatibility for these games natively only digitally so there you there was no umd support basically It also had the same support for the PS1 games, which was pretty cool.

So if you think about it, it has a lot of versatility.

Persona 4 Golden is an incredible game.

I'll admit when I walked in to playing this game for the first time, I had my reservations.

I didn't know what Persona was going to be like.

We've got Metaphor, Refantasia.

We've got so many options with that Persona formula to experience, right? I'm not even going to talk about Persona 4 Revival because it's not out yet.

Okay? But if you were to go back and play Persona 4 Golden right now, today, you might not have the greatest experience with the game.

Okay.

Yeah.

And then there's Persona 4 Golden.

Yeah.

And then there's, like, another version of Golden, right, that came out a couple years ago?

Yeah

Persona, I do like Persona 4 Golden, despite its many, many, many, many narrative issues, which I am a bit worried about, because yeah.
