When I look at the movie versus the TV show, the, the movie had some comedic, comedic aspects to it, whereas the TV show was more of a comedy with some serious parts in it.

Uh, but I thought it was interesting that, you know, there was a Trapper John in the movie and in the show, and then it became its own show with Pernell Roberts.

And, and so that whole continuum of one character kind of transcending the whole timeline and ending up as a, as a, a takeoff, a spinoff on, on the, the, the show.

Um, you know, I, I can see myself, you know, having sort of a similar timeline in, in my career.

I think there was James Kelly, James Garner, there was someone else as well, but yeah, they had sort of multiple...

And you could go back and watch a bit of Ponderosa with Lorne Green and Pernell Roberts and Michael Landon.

on trapper john md but it's but it's interesting that they chose to spin off trapper john and yet they chose a different actor

they also did after mash which didn't do all that well and they were trying to ride that gravy train to the end but as you said it is crazy that a black comedy about the military wound up becoming so successful i was talking before about How the final episode, which is called Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen, which aired on February 28th, 1983, is the highest rated single episode of any television show ever.
