Permutation City

You know, this is back in, like, Claude, I don't know, 3.7, 4.0 days.

I immediately go to, like, whatever, ChatGPT, ask, like, what book is he referring to? And it ended up being Permutation City.

And that is, like, part of a trilogy that has Diaspora and Shields Child.

He, on a more recent podcast, mentioned Werner Winge's A Fire Upon the Deep, which is in the Zones of Thought trilogy.

Greg Hagen is a really big inspiration, by the way.

I'd say Permutation City is probably the one you want to check.

It's all about these sort of things.

It's really good.

If you've been stimulated by thinking about these themes...

We can recommend some continued reading.

Thomas recommended checking out the works of sci-fi author Greg Egan, specifically his novel Permutation City, which grapples directly with the realities of being digitally replicated.
