I think last night was a performative, whorfy time.

Performative, whorfy time? Because if you look at the numbers, okay, so Tom Stewart kicks that goal.

It's 106 to 114, so two scores, really, with I think around, now I'm not going back through the timeline of the game, around a minute to go.

Like sometimes, yes, there's someone who is passionate about a charity and they're trying to put into words exactly what the charity means to them.

One comment said, "Performative.

Uh, weird." Like, the people were like, "Yeah, whatever, we don't care." [laughs] And then we have another headline about Jaxson Dart sharing a quiet moment with girlfriend Marissa Ayers at the Giants training camp.

It's on the field.

Now, especially in the realm of or maybe in the context of corporate communication.

I think we have this very stereotypical kind of imagination that there are very specific words, you know, sometimes the words they may get overused like authentic, trust, this, that, that, you know, now, after a certain period of time, it all looks like very performative.

Performative also is a word that has, I think, it has become overused a lot.

But what do you think, I mean, even if it's an external stakeholder-based communication or internal stakeholder-based communication, I know the dynamics are different in both the contexts.

Before the rain starts to fall, let's throw away our can of soda at the blue trash bin that says, "Recycle." It's a performative.

Performatives are sentences that are meant to inspire actions.

Rather than conveying a message, it acts upon the world.

It does something.
