Percy Faith

I love this, of Beethoven's The Beach Boys' Caroline No, that was just a wonderful performance.

I want to throw in there that one of your latest releases is a great cover of Percy Faith's Theme from a Summer Place, as well as the covers on the Touch of Terror albums.

What is in a song that it says to you it should get the CJ's treatment? Yeah.

Good question.

Yeah, you know, possibly that one is one of the tracks that is least arranged.

I did the least amount of adapting on that.

It's really a strict cover of the Percy Faith version, just with guitars.

So the guitars are playing all of those amazing string lines.

Musicals like, oh, I don't know, this one from Little Abner.

You know there was a J name in there, right? Here's Percy Faith.

When we fought the Yankees and annihilation was

It lasted 693 performances and still done by high schools and this and that.

And not too bad.

That's Percy Faith and the Chorus from The Most Happy Fellow.

This one ran for 14 months on Broadway.

And then you've got everybody and his brother and male and female crooners.

And, you know, those singer groups like the Seekers and then the Percy Faith Orchestra would do, you know, an instrumental version of all these different hits.

So you never knew who kind of like was the original singer.

you know writer but in this case you know other people recorded it but tom jones had the big hit with it there's always somebody that their version was the one that cuts through and sells the most records and that tom jones version one of the green green grass at home was the big one

The music is here to put a smile on your face.

Peter Nero, Percy Faith coming up, and this is Sandy Smith Group and Wagon Wheels on the Cocktail Nation evenings at the Penthouse.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Okay, I, I, I'm pretty sure.

And how about another looking song, mm, for Look magazine? Here's Percy Faith and the unnamed singers from 1966 doing a little bit of business for him.

This is Looking for Love.

Ba-da-dum, ba-dum, ba-dum.

Ba ba-da ba.

Ba ba-da ba.

"Looking for Love," that's Percy Faith and the Singers, and, uh, charted on both the pop charts and the AC charts, I think, but not very high.

Kinda perky, nice arrangement.

Things such as, I would imagine, Beat Nick Fly by Johnny and the Hurricanes.

Theme from a Summer Place by Percy Faith.

That's absolutely instrumental.

Green Jeans by the Flea Wreckers.

Every moment I have, I'm trying...

Now, every now and then I stop and I listen to some Johnny Mathis and some Percy Faith and some Andrea Bocelli and some Bee Gees.

You know, I love the Bee Gees.

I listen to some great little, some great music from the days gone by that I love.
