But the bridge itself, we have an open house coming up on Tuesday, November 17th to talk about the replacement project and where that is at.

It's going to be from 5 to 7 p.m. right in City Hall.

We were able to get some good witness statements and other evidence to help identify our suspect vehicle.

And within a short amount of time, thanks to help from both the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Pennington County Sheriff's Office, that vehicle was located rather quickly, parked at a business in the 400 block of East North Street.

So we got up there, determined it was in fact the same vehicle, made contact with the owner.

And the owner has since been placed under arrest for felony level hit and run.

Through talking to witnesses and other physical evidence that was available on scene, we were able to determine that there was a blue Chevy pickup that had been at the scene at the time of the shooting and had fled just prior to law enforcement arrival.

So fast forward about 50 minutes from the initial call.

There's a Pennington County Sheriff's deputy that is running traffic enforcement out on Elkvale and happens to spot a speeding blue Chevy pickup and attempts a traffic stop on it to address the speeding.

Well, the pickup doesn't stop.

I used to voir dire on the CSI effect.

And you understand that this is the Rapid City Police Department, the Pennington County Sheriff.

We don't have the resources to do some of the things that you see on TV.

And some of the things you see on TV aren't even real.

The exception to that is during the Sturgis motorcycle rally, we kind of devote all of our attention to BAC testing during that time.

That's usually just 10 days of straight BAC testing.

But that being said, we handle a lot more than just Pennington County samples.

We handle pretty much the entire western half of the South Dakota.

Custer County Search and Rescue.

Pennington County Search and Rescue.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office.

The Keystone and Custer Ambulance Services.

The man who led Custer County Search and Rescue, Sam Smolenski, said of the grotto cavers, they are some of the best in the region.

Pennington County, like I'm saying it now, I'm trying to hide it a little from you people, but like, oh boy, we're about to look silly.
