And [chuckles] he was not an investigator, at least not for the Dallas Police Department.

It's Penn Jones Jr., and he ran a weekly newspaper.

We know him well.

That newspaper, of course, was the Midlothian Mirror that he published in Midlothian, Texas.

If they haven't, this will be your first.

[suspenseful music] Let's start with account number one, Penn Jones, and what he said to the FBI.

Now, Jones told agents that Senator had failed to tell the Warren Commission some things.

So we got a lot here.

So from Forgive My Grief, this is, of course, from Penn Jones Jr.,

right?

Mm-hmm.

He died on November 29th of 1974 before the HSCA's main work, so obviously he wasn't interrogated by them.

Um, Joan Mellon's research, uh, author of A Farewell to Justice and Penn Jones Jr. long running Forgive My Grief volumes, both put HL Hunt at the center of a Texas oil millionaire's theory of the assassination.

Penn Jones was the first that would, pardon me, the first published researcher to argue this thesis at book length.

And unfortunately in 2025, those FBI fields files released in March And the follow-up releases through January of 26 contain no document publicly identified by NARA, Mary Farrell, or other major research that specifically identifies H.L. Hunt.

I see Penn Jones throws in a few coincidences in his book.
