Penn Hills

Why? Why?

because it allows me to talk about the way that I approached being the paper boy, right? You know, so I live in, grew up in a place called Penn Hills, right? And as the name would suggest, so Penn Hills was a, people that went to my high school that people know, right? You know, George Carl went to my high school, aaron donald went to my high school and the predator the actor that played the predator and then i'm like fourth on the list of most famous i'm i'm exaggerating but you know like it's not a big um school but you know kind of a very interesting place i've been written about a lot no sidewalks in my my neighborhood right so i'm a paper boy with these hills steep hills 30 percent grade hills and i don't know that i didn't measure it but you know it's a pretty steep hills um delivering papers.

And so the way that I approached it, I really didn't know I was doing it, but route optimization was something that I was doing kind of very, very early on because it's like, how do I get home, get all the papers? The guy that delivered the papers, his name was Mike Vento, right? Mike would drop the papers off.

I would spend the time to wrap them in rubber bands so I could throw them go on the optimal route, and I would time it.

So where does your confidence come from?

I mentioned Penn Hills, you know, grew up in a and again, there's one of two ways you go in that environment.

It's like a cauldron.

Now he's out of retirement, but...

He talked about just like, you know, putting in that work with his dad in the weight room at Penn Hills and the addiction that he got to lifting those weights and just like the addiction he got to the work.

You know, Penn Hills wanted to beat Northeastern.

Northeastern wanted to beat Penn Hill.

But if you're given sufficient reason and you drink anyway, I always like to give a great story, and I don't know how far we're going to get tonight, but Me and Jimmy D. Jimmy D. was a childhood friend.

Me and Jimmy started drinking together in Penn Hills, in Pittsburgh, together back in the 70s.

In 1980, I moved to Florida.

In 1982, Jimmy moved to Florida.

So you've kind of hitched your wagon to their star in that respect.

But a lot of people are like, oh, like Eric and Penn Hills.

After honorable discharge, he returned to the University of Pittsburgh, this time at the main campus where he was reunited with his Nancy.

After their marriage and the birth of Amanda, they moved to Penn Hills and remained there where they cherished their time together.
