Welcome to the Eat Local New York podcast.

I'm your host Anthony Tringale, and in this week's episode, I'm sitting down and talking to Brian, the owner of Capone's Italian Eatery out in Penfield.

Well, I've had Brian on the podcast before, and, uh, if you follow on social media, I go out there once a month.

Brian is actually, um, a, a, a client of Sidewalks and, and Eat Local New York, where we go out there and help him by creating content every single month that he can post on his own social media.

You know, Brian is the type of client where, like, a lot of times we're sharing, um, inspiration and, and viral videos that we're finding from all across the country with each other or coming up with different recipes.

And it's fun to kind of like have this sort of creative outlet to share ideas and come up with ideas for different specials back and forth, and then be able to, like, see them come to life and execute them at his restaurant.

And, um, it's not just fun just to have sort of that creative partner outlet, but it's also a lot of fun because he makes incredible food at Capone's in Penfield.

So I always enjoy having him on the, the podcast because, and just talking to him, because he has a d- very different approach, um, to influencers and social media than I, than I do.

The closures were recommended to the Board by OTB Management following a years-long financial review of operations that showed the six branches slated for closure lost a total of $730,000 in 2025 and another $700,000 through August of this year.

The five other branches slated for closure are located in Auburn, Chickawaga, Penfield, Jamestown, and Rochester.

All six branches will be closed by the end of October if the board approves management recommendation.

OTB said the closures would impact a total of 13 branch employees.

That crash remains under investigation.

The Clinton and River branches in cl- Cheektowaga and res- and Tonawanda respectively, as well as the Jamestown branch, will likely cease operations at the end of this month.

The Empire branch in Penfield, the, the, whoops, [paper rustling] Lisle branch in Rochester, and the Auburn branch are als- also expected to close next month.

The move is part of recommended changes that have come after several years of reviewing the financial performance and changing needs of its branch network.

It would mean OTB has closed 15 branches since 2020, and a total of 13 employees would be affected by the current proposed closures.
