I see it.

We've walked maybe 300 feet out onto the exposed mud flats just off a German island called Pellworm, written Pellworm, and in those couple of minutes, the excited gray sea has come racing back towards the shore.

[instrumental music] It's covered our footsteps almost as quickly as they were made, leaving us to walk through the deepening shallows.

Okay, well, I got there, I arrived by ferry from another island, just a little bit, a bigger island, not very far away.
Tamsin WalkerCORRESPONDENT

This island is called Pellworm, like Pellworm, maybe.

And the day that I went, it was this gorgeous, beautiful day, calm water.

And before I went there, I was on this other island of Pellworm and I had the opportunity to go out into the mudflats off the Wadden Sea with a native Pellwormer who spends half his time there and half his time in Hamburg, the German city of Hamburg.

Boris NienkeHOST
1:39
Ja geil.
Chris MarquardtHOST
