The NDP released statements, including one from London West MPP Peggy Sattler, who's their universities and colleges critics, saying that the Ford government is failing the next generation and noting that this lower spending comes at the same time as the government's changes to OSAP have put more of the costs of tuition on students.

Mike Schreiner of the Green Party said that the Ford government's cuts are underfunding the services that Ontarians rely on and that, quote, life just gets harder for Ontarians.
