Peg wooden doll

But Findon may have one of the strangest collections of all.

There is the famous Dutch Doll, a wooden figure of a schoolgirl associated with the old Charity Girls school.

The story goes that the girls became frightened of it.

They believed it moved.

Come on, Raggedy Ann.

Little Henny, the Dutch doll, wanted to go with Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy, but Raggedy Ann said, No, Henny, you must stay here and take care of the rest of the dolls.

You see, you are the only man left.

This pleased Henny so much he tried to stick out his chest so far that he fell over backwards and cried, Mama, in his quavery voice.
