Hawk, do you remember the first time you saw this film?

So it's a trilogy that is X, Pearl and Maxine with three Xs.

And yeah, Mia Goth is in these movies and she plays multiple parts, which is... brilliant and fascinating I think she's amazing in them basically X kind of starts the story we've got a group of young filmmakers who are they like rent like a farmhouse in rural Texas to shoot a porno and the old couple who live there kind of take exception to it and try and start murdering them don't they and Mia Goth plays both like one of the young actors and the old woman Then Pearl, who is that old woman, goes back in time and has this like origin story of how Pearl ended up becoming a killer.

And then Maxine, she's the final girl from X who moves to L.A. to become an adult film star, only to be stalked by a mysterious killer.

And that's how we have this cast for Maxine.

And we had bore witness to X and Pearl together.

breathlessly coming out in the same year, 2022.

And we've already discussed in our previous two episodes how that came to be.

And I think that If you were to watch X and you could get the sense, okay, this is a movie that very much relies on her very capable shoulders because she's playing two characters.

And towards the end of the film, she is really the only one that is there because she's also speaking to herself, hero versus villain.

But that kind of gets erased, right? Because the most recent thing that people were paying attention to was Pearl.

And that is the Mia Goth show.

And then it just gets nuts.

And then Pearl, Pearl was, I didn't think I was going to like it, but I was like, wow, this was very, very big.

I liked Pearl better than Ashley too.

Speaking of indie from Obsession, like Mia Goth in Pearl, like that performance.

I mean, when we walked away, I was like, that was like a character study.

Like that wasn't just like a straightforward.
