Peacemaker

"Creature Commandos" for sure.

"Peacemaker" was specific, and, and I think that-

Yeah, it's cool, man

... going from "Creature Commandos" to "Superman" to "Peacemaker" showed kind of a proof of concept.

And then this year we get "Lanterns" or we get "Supergirl" into "Lanterns" into like the lead up-- "Clayface" at the end of this year, but leading up to "Man of Tomorrow", we've got this.

I feel like there's a mood balancing act that they're doing-

But also, uh, [laughs] for me, Peacemaker, the Peacemaker show, DCU show Peacemaker.

The Peacemaker show, so James Gunn DCU.

It wa- actually started off in the DCEU, which was Zack Snyder's DC Universe, uh, and it was one of the only things that was ported over to the new, along with Blue Beetle.

I'll get into that later.

I was very s- excited to see him pop up in, um, Peacemaker too.

Um, and it's that soul, that whole thing too, of just like, how Peacemaker had that opening dance number.

And it's like you said, James Gunn just likes to do things with all of his friends and it's probably getting, they're getting, they're having a kick out of it in the writer's room.

But you know, Grodd can be such, and that will never, you won't be able to come back from that.

That's going to be the interesting take.

How do they handle him? Because he's goofy, right? And he fits into the goofy tone of Superman.

He even fit into the goofy tone when they put him into Peacemaker during that

scene.

Yeah.

I know Peacemaker was also in that stunt category.

That was the one that it had gotten nominated for.

So it beat out Peacemaker, which is crazy.

Again, five Emmy wins the same week that you get canceled.

It's kind of crazy work.

where you had to figure out how to light and color things so they looked right on black and white, like in a black and white mode.

I'm sure Nick is not the cheapest actor, lead actor to have attached to a project like this.

Also, this almost certainly has no connection, but a room with a portal and a cow...

It did remind me a bit of Peacemaker, where they have the big cave and the cow and the...

Oh, yeah.

Right, yeah.

I had heard people online make the comparison between Peacemaker's butterfly plotline and the Manhunter.

I don't think they're that similar, but I do see where people are coming from with that, where it's like, it's a small town and shit is not as it seems.

But they don't spend the whole time in

And if you're not aware of Foxy Shazam, there used to be this really cool kind of weirdo sort of sassy mathy rock band and then they started working with justin hawkins and kind of trying to be a bit more mainstream and you know it was cool but it wasn't really my thing um and that's kind of where they've been if you you might know them if you've watched season two of peacemaker because they're the theme tune to season two of peacemaker is a foxy shazam song and they're actually in the episode where they go to that like gig thing at the end and He declares his love for James Gunn's wife or whatever.

I don't know.

That second series of Peacemaker was good in places and not so good in others.

But anyway, like Foxy Shazam are kind of this weird sort of 70s throwback rock band who have like a foot in the math core world.
