And I think sometimes it sadly has to do about how much work is available on how much work there actually is.

Where is it? Who owns it? Can it be gotten? You know, I know for a fact, if we think about, you know, the MK Gallery was the first one to, you know, like an artist like Paula Rego, you know, who had lots of exhibitions.

Her retrospective at the MK Gallery was also done by Catherine Lampert.

was the first real large opus exhibition here, even though there had been other ones in another country.

So who, whose names are on that wish list of, of who was wanted in the collection?

Well, there was Maggie Hambling, Paula Rego, um, Sonia Boyce, Gillian Ayres.

I mean, it's a list of 46 artists, but as you say, it very much started with Mary Kelly being in residence, um, at New Hall, as the college was known then, and making a really extraordinary body of work called Ecstas, which is the starting point of our current exhibition, What Remains, that really connects her work to contemporary practitioners to really engage with these ideas of what does remain, this idea of history, what gets carried forward.

And of course, that's sort of so important to the college, this sense of this 40th anniversary that we've, you know, been, been working in this way for, for so long.

And, you know, age ambiguity is something that I'm, I'm sort of interested in in the work.

It's one of the reasons I love looking at, like, Paula Rego and Margot Bergman are two artists that I've looked at for a really long time for similar reasons.

And, you know, I've, I'm, I'm 41 now.

I've been young trying to look older.
