He had a 6.30 ERA in six starts, and he won't do anything else.

I get the frustration.

I do think I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here, but I understand that we've been giving him the benefit of the doubt for a while, and two of the last three seasons have been pretty disappointing now.

I think there was maybe a, a bit of an injury scare or, or whispers of a potential injury around the time of that draft.

... peak draft season next year, Skenes is surely gonna go a lot earlier than that.

But is Skenes gonna go after Sal Stewart? Uh, has this been a disappointing enough season for Skenes who has a 383 ERA on the year, almost double what he had the last two years? And is this also an encouraging enough rookie campaign from Sal Stewart that you would rather have Stewart than Skenes next season?

I, I, I like Sal Stewart, and I would actually rather have Sal Stewart than Paul Skenes.

You know, when I asked him, "What's the hardest someone could throw?" He says, "It's a question of physics." And it sa- it says it starts with how much force can you put into the ground.

And so he was like, "So basically if you gave me a, you know, a Giannis type, uh, you know, a, a, a Shaq type that could actually move like a pitcher, that actually like, you know, like had been a baseball player his whole life, that would be the guy who could throw the hardest." If you look at like Chapman, you look at like Skenes, you're like, "Oh, these are big dudes, big size, big force into the ground." Like these guys have these lower bodies.

Um, a- and when you look at Mierzewski, you see more of a, you see the height, you see the frame, you see, you know, maybe he can, he'll put on weight.

But you also see kind of like a teenager, right? Like, you see that kind of guy who's like, "You can't put any weight on." And like Sale, for what it's worth, is, you know, sit, like sitting 97, 98 in, in his late 30s.
