And he is the reason that over a million Australians now have a free timed 5k waiting for them in so many local parks in Australia every Saturday morning.

Back in April 2011, Tim approached the Parkrun founder, Paul Sinton-Hewitt, and asked if he could bring the concept from UK to Australia.

With the support of Sam Hughes and the late and great Ron Clark, he launched the very first Parkrun in Main Beach on the Gold Coast.

15 years on, the single event has grown into a nationwide movement.
