Paul RattayGUEST
I mean, there's lots of people that have way more, you know, like experience and longevity in doing this.

Paul RattayGUEST
So far, even though I had babies a year ago, my females really started nesting four plus years back, right? And they started laying eggs.

Paul RattayGUEST

... you know, I mean, like, early on, I mean, how, how could you not be completely, you know, infatuated with them? But I, I, I feel like I got lucky, and I just kind of fell into, uh, an, an opportunity and, uh, you know, ended up getting some young animals from, you know, someone, if you know radiateds, you know, sh- everyone should know this name, Bill Zobickin.

Paul RattayGUEST
Um, and, uh, you know, sort of waited, you know, a very long time to, to kind of get them to, to, uh, adult age.

Paul RattayGUEST
So, you know, it was one of these things I feel like I just kind of fell into, got lucky, and just remained glued to, you know, the situation, uh, until today.

But you know, that, that by itself wasn't like a huge threat because the local population wasn't necessarily able to do that.

Paul RattayGUEST
But more recently, I think the amp- the poaching and the, the, you know, the pet trade, um, you know, it's kind of the same story that you see in a lot of these places where, you know, it, uh, you know, these tortoises need to pick, uh, you know, some better, better locations to be instead of, you know, parts of the world where individuals don't have good income.
