Paul J. Crutzen

All the spheres, so to speak, that make up the planet.

And it is in that context that in 2000 the idea was proposed by a Dutch atmospheric chemist Paul Crutzen, Nobel laureate, in 2000 at a conference in Mexico on the Holocene.

And the Holocene is a geological period in which humans and of course all other creatures have lived for over the last 11,600 years.

It's the new period, so to speak, in which humans became sedentary, in which they developed culture, so to speak, and which was to a large extent a quite human-friendly epoch.
