Paul Clancy

They need to get over the line.

Um, obviously, Mike Cullen, it's an important one obviously with, with Paul Clancy's passing and Don obviously, they'll be, they'll be two men that'll be having arguments this week now over picking teams and match-ups and is there any way we could get Winnie out there? I know for a fact they'll be talking about that.

And, um, now Kieran Murphy and, and Colm Clancy will have all their match-ups in order.

Um, but there was actually a clip the last day from, um, there was a clip the last day from the An Dún game.

Do you have to pinch yourself sometimes like when you look back 2020 was your first title and now you're in five finals in a row like for a club that hasn't always had a history of winning senior football titles it has been I suppose some four or five years for you.

Yeah it has and look a lot of us would have started out back in 2015 we won the intermediate so that's where it kind of started for a few of us and then I kept a senior title in 2020 kind of got the ball rolling and I suppose through the great work of Paul Grassley and Don Connellan who were manager and chairman at the time and the standards they set for us to try and reach that standard was incredible and you know those standards have maintained through the group year in year out and there's a really hungry and driven group there and we want to suppose remember them and the way we play and keep that legacy going and every year you know there's a real appetite to do more and I suppose it's great to see ourselves back in another final but I suppose we don't forget where it all started and that was you know in a place where we weren't having much success and you know know maybe a middle tier senior squad and sometimes down intermediate so i suppose it is it's nice and especially for the older generation you know you get chatting to them after games and they they get real pleasure in it to see you see the club where it is at the moment and it's nice to see that too

sure you're expecting another big test against saltina it's just always been down to the wire when you bet

Yeah, I think this is the fourth time now in a couple of years.

We'll be ready for that and we'll just try and put the best version of my Gullum football on the pitch and hopefully it's enough.

Obviously,

you had a sad passing of Paul Fancy this year.

Is he someone you're thinking of when you enter the pitch this year?

It's, it's all the players that they have to their, at their disposal.

Um, and I think there's a real energy and a want to, to win it for Paul Clancy, who was chairman is their club man who passed away, uh, very sadly.

Um, so I, I think there's a, there's a real motivation there that sometimes that little bit extra can get you there.

So that's why I'd probably say it's going back to my colon.
