Patrick Rothfuss

You're this young kid and you're exploring and things are unexpected and the house is kind of strange and you find items and pull levers.

But there's a layer on top of that, a story in the background that you pick up as you go, which kind of reminds me in some ways to the type of story that I liked that Pat Rothfuss wrote with his two books in the Name of the Wind series, where you have one story, and then if you're paying attention, there's another story going on in the background.

And there even is a third story in back of that.

So if you keep going deeper, you find that there actually is more there.

George R.R. Martin, Brandon Sanderson's, all the huge, huge, huge people, um, Patrick Rothfuss, all those huge fantasy authors-

Mm

... you know, um, they all say that barely any of it lands on the page.

I would guess probably not.

It feels like Rothfuss, if he wanted to, I mean, sometimes lawsuits take a long time, but at the same time, all the evidence is there.

So it feels like if Rothfuss wanted to sue, he would have done it already.

But this feels like a situation where he could.

And I don't, again, not a lawyer, don't know for sure, but that just seems, that's uncanny.
