Do you believe that this issue could be solved or are there certain systems like we talked about earlier that will keep this challenge that many people face from being solved? And if you do believe that it can be solved, what will it take to really be able to solve some of the challenges that we're seeing, not just here in our city, but throughout the country?
12:34
Well, first, housing doesn't live in a vacuum.
12:38
So you've had, you know, since the pandemic, about an 18% plus increase in housing costs, only about a 4% increase in wages.
12:49
And you've also had almost a 20 to 21% increase in construction itself.
12:56
So you won't build your way out of it.
12:59
I will say that.
13:01
You won't build your way out of it.

14 MINS LATER

27:24
Dr. Graham, I'd love to know, and I always ask this on this podcast, what was one of your slingshot moments? What was a moment that pulled you back and brought you down that really allowed you to really sling forward as well in your own life?
5:59
Would you attribute that to him kind of now being fully healthy from that injury
6:02
or just the game plan opening up for him? I think really, when you talk about sacks, most of the time it's coming from a combination of coverage and pressure.
6:10
So I think he'd probably be the first one to tell you, he's gotta be thinking the guys behind him cover him, so that's one thing.
6:18
More sacks are made in terms of just relentless pursuit to the ball.
6:21
You can talk about the one in Cleveland where he took it up high, counted back.
6:24
That was effort play.
6:26
So again, the health thing, you have to talk to him about that because when he's up, he's up.
6:54
What's the next step for them to start getting on the field and playing defensively?
speaker_7UNKNOWN
3:05
So like in the case of the JJ the keys and talking to him, what are the benchmarks that you're looking for as you're gauging their progress?
3:14
One, you wanna see them consistently having their eyes in the right place.
3:18
That's one and can they get their hands in front of their eyes with low pad levels.
3:22
So you're looking for them to play a little bit lower than they probably did in college because Again, I've said this before that those guys were hard to block in college.
3:30
But now you're dealing with the elite level football players and offensive linemen.
3:35
So you're gonna need all the advantages you could gain in terms of pad level, hand placement, good base.
3:41
So you're looking for that to grow first and From there, any defensive lineman, can you get off of your block? Can you get off your block and make a play? Because, again, when you're talking about Cleveland's run game or anybody's run game, if you get a single block, we're counting on you to be able to take care of your primary gap, fall into your second gap.
6:30
Even when you look back at what he did at CU, what stood out to you and why you think he can be an effective holdout player?
3:30
the way he's able to play both sides of the field? Obviously, you have to worry about him as a receiver more than anything, but the way he has the endurance to do that on a weekly basis.
3:40
And I know it's been limited in terms of the amount of plays, but again, it's so funny with this league and this game, it's not anything new.
3:49
It's not anything we've seen guys do before.
3:51
Obviously, they're a special breed of player, but I'm sure the organization there, they're just trying to do what they think is best to help them win games.
3:58
So if he could do it, he could do it.
4:00
So, I mean, any well-conditioned athlete, I'm impressed by that.
4:04
But that's what they get paid to do.
6:26
When you had the opportunity in the bye week to do self-evaluation and look at your defense as a unit, what was your, I guess, biggest takeaway?
speaker_6UNKNOWN
2:27
you see a guy like Joe who kind of came here a little humble, not getting on the team with the Colts and keeping at it and working at it, how satisfying is that to see that progress? And how can you measure the progress from last year to now?
2:41
I couldn't be happier with where Jonah is right now.
2:45
We had him in the pro day, the local pro day, him being a local guy.
2:49
We were impressed with him then.
2:51
Colts drafted him, then when they cut him, we got a chance to get him.
2:55
I mean, he did on that pro day without pads on, obviously, he displayed that athleticism, the work ethic.
3:03
Everything that you want from a young defensive lineman, you know, good knee bend, played with his hands, had to clean up a few things, but it was a good project to want to work with.
speaker_4UNKNOWN
6:47
So how much more emphasis will have to be on that position this week?
speaker_1UNKNOWN
0:33
pass rusher
0:33
standpoint, what do you feel like you need to improve on that? Pass rusher goes hand in hand with the coverage.
0:39
So I gotta do a better job of creating opportunities for the guys in terms of Just tying together the coverage and the rush, and then it comes down to those guys working together.
0:52
And when their individual battles when it comes up, whether the slides one way or the other, but really gotta tie it all together a little better on my standpoint.
0:59
What have you seen from Ken Ward as you watch him? You know, you see he has a live arm.
1:05
He definitely has a live arm.
1:07
I mean, he made a couple really good seam throws throughout the year.
speaker_3UNKNOWN
3:40
What have you seen in him just getting better?
OzempicADVERTISER
0:45
There's a pill version of Ozempic.
1:28
First thing, offensive line, starting with Nelson.
1:31
I mean, he's a monster.
1:32
He's been a monster for a long time.
1:35
Point of attack blocker for him.
1:37
What he does at the first level, second level, and then when he gets out, when he pulls, he's just a difference maker.
1:43
And then you go back from there to the running back.
speaker_8UNKNOWN
6:08
Can you just talk about what do you believe is what makes it go, that run defense?
