Patrick Forbes

But we have some updates, especially on...

Patrick Forbes, who got his first win on Saturday for the Salt River Rafters.

Forbes went two and two thirds innings, giving up one hit, walking two and striking out four.

He gets his first win of the season in a 5-0 win over the Mesa Solar Sox.

And that's very exciting.

and again, somebody to watch.

So if you go out there to catch our beloved Salt River Rafters, make sure to keep an eye out for Patrick Forbes as one of the better prospects in the Diamondbacks system and somebody who could be seeing Major League time here probably by 2028.

Let's hope not 2027.

Pitching was relevant.

Yeah, that's probably the highlight here is, one, Patrick Forbes, and two, BC John West throwing-

The big man

... out there, two innings, three strikeouts.

But Patrick Forbes had another good outing, four strikeouts, two and two thirds.

Uh, two walks, one hit allowed, brought that ERA, ERA down to 169.

Somebody we thought was gonna do pretty well, be a guy to kind of buy 'cause he was so cheap, and, uh, kind of had a late start to the year.

And the, the guys pitching against them, I, I see Irving Cota, uh, doesn't even have a picture on the MLB website.

Having Jordan Lawler see more right-handed pitching, having Ryan Walchmit see more right-handed pitching, they're not going to get better if they're not going to pl- go all in on their youth development.

And then one guy in particular I did want to talk about in the Arizona Fall League would be Patrick Forbes, the Dynomax number 11 overall prospect.

Of course, Arizona's first round draft pick, 29th overall in 2025.

He lost some time to a right flexor strain and made his professional debut in late May.

Diamondbacks also have a few other guys out there.

Patrick Forbes is another guy that's been having some success.

And again, it's about not only seeing the Diamondbacks prospects of the future, but about seeing a lot of these other youngsters.

More importantly...

Um, that's more or less it from the Bowman standpoint here, just kind of looking up and down for this game.

So, oh, no, I'd, I'd be, uh, selling myself short if we didn't quite talk about Patrick Forbes, who went two and two-thirds, struck out a pair.

Um, I think that's his debut, right? Is that, is that the first time he's thrown-

Yeah

And, you know, I'm just very confident in our team and, um, I'm just really excited to get this year going.

That Omaha run was such a blast with, with Eddie King Jr., Tucker Bivin, Patrick Forbes kind of making their mark.

Yep.

It was so special.

That's it?

Basically, it's Harleen, Susana, uh, Patrick Forbes and Brandon Clark are pretty much, that's pretty much it.

I love Patrick Forbes.

So

I do too.

Really good bat skills, power speed, really good defender.

I really love him, and he's going to pop off at the AFL.

And then Patrick Forbes.

Uh, I also...

I know we're both big fans of Patrick Forbes, uh, with the Diamondbacks.

Um, didn't...

Wasn't able to stack innings really this year, but I thought he looked great when he was out there.

There isn't really that much talent.

Like, Charney Susana is already taken, and the only guys I was really liking from that team is Charney Susana and Patrick Forbes, so I'm going to take Patrick Forbes now.

Forbes, similar situation, but he was drafted last year, but this year he pitched 11 starts, 30 innings, 273 ERA, B57 fit.

Very good stuff, but in the lower levels, which you don't really want to see that from a college guy, but hopefully he does well against tough competition.

In the fall, he's going to see some tough competition, and it's going to be nice to see him helping in pitching as well.

So my two picks, Braxton Bagg and Patrick Forbes.

Very good.

All right, Lucas.
