Pasteurella multocida

It would turn out the deadly bacteria that found its way into June's open wound was introduced to her by her granddaughter completely by accident.

The bacteria is called Pasteurella multocida, and it's found in a very specific place, inside the mouths of domestic dogs.

While June laid on the bathroom floor waiting for her granddaughter to find bandages to wrap up her leg, June's old beloved dog, who her granddaughter had brought over, was trying to comfort June, and June was allowing the dog to do that.

But what the dog was doing, actually doing to comfort June, was licking her open wound.
