Pass the Ammo

I, again, I heard this after I'd already done the Facebook Live.

Uh, Philip Carey in Arkansas, uh, he worked for the Eureka Springs Police Department when Pass the Ammo was being filmed over there.

And as he, he got to go around on the movie set, and out of nowhere, Bill Paxton and Tim Curry walked out.

And he said that Tim Curry said, "Evening, gents," and he was starstruck, which would've been, that would've been pretty cool.

He could also do scary, playing a killer clown in a television production of Stephen King's It.

For his role as an evangelist preacher in Pass the Ammo, an overlooked film from 1988, he drew high praise from the exacting critic Pauline Kael of The New Yorker.

She noted in her review, the bags under his eyes puffing out and his curly, dimply smile so elfishly dirty that it's as if he were lighted by hellfire.

When Curry agreed to play Dr. Frankenfurter, he assumed he would be something like Dr. Frankenstein, an unhinged scientist in a white lab coat with a German accent.

But then he dies at age 80.

But he was in the movie with you, Pass the Ammo.

He was in the movie Pass the Ammo, and what's, uh, f- strange about this is when I went up and tried out for the movie, the producer drew me aside and asked me to record several different Southern voices of preachers, because he was gonna play a Southern preacher, and he's, of course, from UK.

And they were gonna send him the cassette of the several different voices and dialects that I've suggested on the cassette.

So that's my connection to Tim Curry.

Well, he had, he had probably-

He seemed like a nice enough fella.
