Um, I don't know what's happening with NYCFC right now.

Obviously, Pascal Jansen wasn't at this game.

He was away due to some personal reasons.

Benny Belushi was the acting head coach.

My hands were itching to bring him on pitch, because it's an ideal game for him as well, but we just have to be a little more patient.

That was NYCFC head coach Pascal Jansen following the game from Friday night, as NYCFC would draw against the powerhouse from Nashville.

And, uh, Nashville are the, uh, Supporters, uh, Shield leaders in the, uh, in the league, in the Eastern Conference, and in, um, MLS.

So it is a, I, I can't help but I feel like a pretty positive response.

Mike, uh, kinda interesting how Y- Jansen phrased it, uh, nine months to the day.

Um, so, uh, you know, it kinda gives you an understanding that, of what the recovery is.

Um, but from a psychological standpoint, I mean, this was an, this is another reason why, as a player, you really gotta love Pascal Jansen.

Yeah, absolutely.

at Yankee Stadium this past Friday.

It was the Pigeons' third straight draw, and while they'd be disappointed to see their winless streak extended to seven games, Pascal Jansen and company were pleased with their defensive performance, holding off one of the league's best attacks to keep their first clean sheet in MLS play since May 13th, a long, long time ago.

The best chance of the match fell to Hani Mukhtar after a miscommunication between Matt Fries and Raul Gustavo, but the Nashville star struck the bar once from close range on an empty net, missing the big chance.

And outside of that, there wasn't too much between the two sides, with only three of the game's 19 shots for either side hitting the target.

So those kinds of draws and then this one are results I feel like are generally positive results.

It's just, you're still waiting for the team to kind of get into that next year of, can we show that we're better than another team again and get three points again which we have well maybe we'll see Wednesday night or Saturday in Utah but that's that's I think where it's at like it's like a disappointment to not break the streak but a good performance against I think a very I mean nationally came in with four wins in a row top team in the league so I think that's a good result even amidst all the other still concerning things that are happening around the team

Yeah, and I think that was generally the upshot when talking to Pascal Jansen in the press conference and talking to the players in the mixed zone.

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect in terms of their reactions, but they were all generally positive with it.

He did not make an appearance.

And then, you know, after the game, Pascal Jansen was saying that he was never really going to play – But he's just, you know, but he is back.

But still there's probably still a few more, probably still a few more, you know, a few more steps there before he fully

comes back.

so like it was a so definitely a better performance for nycfc though nycfc was also playing at home so

yeah uh the biggest highlight of this game for me is the return of aiden o'neill uh who's come back First game since being injured from the World Cup.

And as Pascal Jansen said, it looks like he played yesterday.

He was great and just kind of reminded everybody how great he was.

And although there was like all football lines, which was crazy.

Now, I spoke to Pascal Janssen today, part of my pregame show, coming up ahead of the Nashville game.

It'll be 7-15 on Friday when both Spanish and English start their live commentary with the pregame show.

So I... asked him about U.S. Open Cup, what he thought.

And they could have come out of there with a point or two, or not two, or three.

But they didn't.

Historically, well, under Pascal Janssen, all close games.

So the 2-1 loss right before the World Cup break, that was the last game before the break.

So in all aspects, I think it's great to have him with us for a longer period of time.

So that was NYCFC head coach, Pascal Janssen.

And that was him in the midweek as the team was preparing for the game in Toronto.

And as we all know by now, that game ended in a 1-1 draw up in BMO Field.

I have a general question about being the head coach of New York City FC.

So going into every season, every coach has goals beyond just winning trophies.

I can't say I'm worried about the offense because Nico Fernandez still exists and is a part of this franchise.

But the defense is now officially worrying me because last year, Pascal Jansen plotted as this defensive mastermind of sorts, really, really solid week in and week out.

Lose Justin Hack, all of a sudden, New York City FC seemingly forgets how to defend at multiple moments throughout games throughout this season.

Was Justin Hack that good? That's the question.

Like I remember around this time last year, we were talking about how this team was on pace for one of its best seasons ever.

And it didn't quite feel like it.

Like we were, we were surprised at this time of year that Pascal Jansen had been getting this much out of that squad and And this year it's feeling more like the opposite.

It's looking like this squad is way stronger.

And so I think the team might be pretty determined to go and win this game.

And I think Pascal Jansen is getting fed up as well.

Seems

like the fans are fed up with him, though.

But, uh, if you look at the game that we played a couple of days ago, especially the second half, uh, then, uh, then you've seen a completely different team on pitch, uh, with a, with a better mentality and a better way of playing as well.

So that was NYCFC head coach Pascal Jansen, and that was him following the game in Cincinnati.

And unfortunately, that was a, uh, a heartbreaker for NYCFC as they would, uh, concede the game-losing goal, uh, or Cincinnati's game-winning goal in stoppage time.

It would be the third goal that Cincinnati would score in stoppage time against NYCFC in the regular season.

Um, and, you know, for their roster certainly speaks for that.

And, uh, they got a result in New England.

So I, I, I don't disagree with you guys at all, and I actually think that, um, Pascal Jansen managed at least the New England game very well, in, in my opinion.

Yeah, the, uh, the stat was, uh, going into the New England game that NYCFC had zero points in three MLS matches when Thiago Martins was not the captain.
