Parliament Square

So I've always, I've always been fascinated with Queensberry House, but I think if, if I had, if I had a gun to my head, the place that I would choose is somewhere that one of my subscribers contacted me about for my Halloween episode in 2023.

It's Parliament Square, which is further up the Royal Mile.

It's at the back of St. Giles' Kir- or St. Giles' Cathedral.

Um, and this is a story that I, I repeat as often as I, I can because it's such an incredible story.

Um, and the, the, the part that really sent shivers down my spine was it, she was communicating over email and there was, this story took a few emails for it to kind of unfold the, the full events.

But in the last email, she told me that they would often see feet dangling through a false ceiling in a, a makeshift bathroom, and it would be a girl's feet that, and they would just see the feet from maybe the, the knees down dangling as if somebody was swinging from the rafters above.

Um, she did some research, and if you know the location of Parliament Square, which is next to St. Giles, it used to have the old toll gate jail, toll booth jail, sorry, um, right next to St. Giles that was literally in the middle of the, the Royal Mile.

Um, it's demolished now, but if you ever go up, there's some brass, uh, cobbles that mark out the, the boundaries of the jail.
