Another tough one.

Parker Meadows.

Man, I think he's a pinch hit.

Uh, but, but it's, it's Parker Meadows, you know.

You put him in there, he could always surprise you.

I don't know.

I don't know what they do with that.

It seems like Max Clark has kind of usurped him as he's gonna be the center fielder.

Let's just kinda take a look as we wrap up our arbitration talk this week, um, with the remaining players that are eligible for it and if the Tigers should offer them a contract.

Uh, Will Vest, Matt Vierling, uh, Tyler Holton, Bo Brisky, Reese Olson, Wencel Perez, and Parker Meadows.

Now, with Perez and Meadows, the injury bug has just unfortunately hit them with freak accidents.

Um, what they're estimating is if Perez and, uh, Meadows go to arbitration, if the Tigers offer it and, uh, they win, it'll probably be about a million dollars.

I mean, how many chances do they get? I know injuries, uh, it's, it's tough luck for both of them, right? Um, Perez, before he got injured, not much of a stick.

His fielding was, was okay, was adequate, but uh, at the plate, batting about 160, just really wasn't dependable.

And Parker Meadows, that dreaded P word, potential.

It seems like every year we're talking about him breaking out, but he just can't stay healthy.

I think Max Clark, a full season in center field, is gonna, you know, net a lot of benefits.

Or, hell, Parker Meadows, if he's healthy, that, uh, obviously is a lot better.

Uh, we know how metrics, uh, do torque, so, uh, I just think, I just think C+ is fitting for me.

I don't even know if I can go C+.

In a big park, you better have a better outfield than that.

I'd give them somewhat of a pass.

The Parker Meadows injury really killed them in that regard.

They're playing Wenzel and Matt Vierling in center for, for longer.

The Tigers will have 11 players that will be arbitration eligible this winter.

Will Vest, Zach McKinstry, Matt Vierling, Riley Green, Spencer Torkelson, Kerry Carpenter, Tyler Holton, Bo Brisky, Reese Olson, Wenceil Perez, and Parker Meadows.

Varying degrees of salary here.

Uh, Winseal Perez, 1.4 mil.

That probably determines, like, is determined by health because that's a pretty low number.

Same with Parker Meadows, only one mil.

Low number, but like, I, I mean, base, I, I don't know.

Zach McKinstry, a full season, almost 100 plate appearances, 182.

Wenceл Perez 182, Brett Callahan 174, Parker Meadows 167, Jamai Jones 129, Jake Rogers 0.95. Like, a- and yes, like they got rid of a, a handful of those guys for sure, but their at bats still counted when they did happen.

So you get my point? Like, there is just such a steep drop-off after...

Like, if you're hitting 240 to 260 with runners in scoring position, that's not terrible in today's day and age of baseball.

The thing that bothers me so much about this is that the front office will not stop talking about how important defense is to development, just for them to turn around and spew out a team that is terrible defensively.

They talked about it with Colt Keith for, like, ever.

They talked about it with Parker Meadows for, like, ever.

Talked about it with Clark and McGonagal.

Now, we've got 10 players that are arbitration eligible for the Tigers heading into 27.

Here's the list, and we've got utility players Zach McKinstry, Matt Bierling, Kerry Carpenter, Wenzel Perez, Parker Meadows, Riley Green, Spencer Torkelson, Bo Briski, Tyler Holton, and Will Vest.

Here are the guys that I would offer contracts to, well, who I would offer to, and I'm going to lump it in together, who I think will be back.

Torkelson is going to be back as much as he can't hit for average and his fielding is average at best.

You know, good luck in the near future.

So those are the arbitration.

Parker Meadows, you know, he can't stay healthy.

And again, I know it was a freak injury with that collision in the outfield, I get it, but I don't know if he's gonna be, you know, if he's ever gonna be back to 100%.

Flaherty, Finnegan, Jansen.

I don't know what they're going to do with Vierling and Carps and when Seal Perez and Parker Meadows, they were all hurt this year.

Maybe they're not injury bust.

Maybe they come back.

Not certain, but in my eyes, I think it's very unlikely.

The maybe list: Gilbert Diaz, Bo Brisky, Kyle Finnigan, Sawyer Gibson-Long, Bailey Horn, Burke Smith, Jacob Waguespack, Javy Báez, Brett Callahan, Corey Jolques, Zach McKinstry, one of Parker Meadows and Wencel Pérez, Brennan Hanafy, and then even super long shot Kerry Carpenter.

That's 14 people.
