Park City High School

KPCW's Bill Skinner has a recap of the action.

The Park City Miners came up just short in an overtime thriller against Region 8 opponent Timpanogos, falling 24 to 23 to the Timberwolves.

After trading touchdowns through the first three quarters, Park City took a three-point lead midway through the fourth on a 25-yard field goal.

However, Timpanogos answered with a 40-yard field goal with just 28 seconds remaining to force overtime.

Timpanogos responded with a touchdown on their possession and converted the extra point to secure the 24-23 victory.

The loss drops Park City to 4-5 overall and 4-2 in Region 8.

The Miners close out the regular season Wednesday night at home against the winless Deer Creek Riverhawks, who fell 55 to nothing to Provo.

KPCW will have live coverage of the Miners versus Riverhawks starting at 7:00 PM.

And we're going to be rolling this out as a tool for all of our mountain towns.

So really excited about that, as well as welcoming a couple of Park City High School students to the summit this year for the first time.

One of our sponsors, Powder Watts, has invited and made it possible for some of our Earth Club students here at the Park City High School to come and observe and bring some of that knowledge back to their classes.

Well, that leads me into a question I was going to ask about this next generation.

It looks like if you're getting these Park City students involved and then you've got these students from Colorado University who are the ones that are leading a charge in this technology zone, that there is a lot of hope for our future.
