Li Auto is set to launch in Europe this quarter.

Six years ahead of schedule, the Chinese automaker will debut its Li-6 model at the Paris Motor Show, focusing on battery electric vehicles due to EU tariffs on extended range vehicles.

This early entry into the European market marks a strategic move to capture demand for electric vehicles, aligning with global shifts towards sustainable transportation.

With a UK launch afterwards, Britain has become an important right-hand drive export market for Chinese EVs, like Australia increasingly is, because we haven't got the European Union additional tariffs.

Li Auto has not, however, named the UK as a launch market with a firm date.

But it is interesting because it's about 10 times the amount of Europe's grid connected storage and so this is a thought experiment to point out that we have so much storage in our cars that's kind of being untapped at the moment.

Li Auto will unveil the i6 that's a big electric SUV at the Paris Motor Show in October and that'll be on sale in Europe before the end of the year up against the BMW iX3 and Mercedes GLC.
