The dialogue in this movie is incredible, at least for the first half.

There's so many good lines from all the different characters.

So this movie makes it pretty clear that Paris and Helen are in love, love, love.

Now, don't quote me on this, but what I remember from the Iliad was Homer does the narrative that she was kidnapped.

And so it's a really great, as a side note, really great psychology to watch in that show, the unfolding of it.

But in that context, program, there's a couple, Paris and what's his name? Doyle.

And they get together and I think she's slightly, she's even taller than him.

And it's just a really loving relationship that they have.

And at the same time, we follow Ellie, who's Anna's older stepsister, who becomes increasingly obsessed with figuring out what happened to her.

Then there's Paris, played by Dylan O'Brien, who's a young man haunted by the death and the disappearance of his mother.

At first, these seem like two separate stories.

And in all honesty, in the beginning of the movie, I thought they were.

The biggest revelation is essentially that there is a closed time loop and Anna doesn't simply become unalived or get kidnapped.

That she enters some strange area of the lake and is transported back to 1952.

She's rescued there and grows up in that time period, eventually becomes Paris's mother.

Crazy, right? So Paris has been searching for answers about his mother without realizing the mystery surrounding her disappearance is directly connected to his own existence.

Mm-hmm.

What was Paris doing that summer?

Exactly.

Go, like, move with Paris.

Right? But no.

Ask Paris what to do.

[laughs]

She didn't even tell Paris anything.

So when they were packing and...

they go into Paris's, they're going to leave or whatever.

And Paris gives Rory Asher Fleming's son's number, Leonard.

And I thought about it for a second.

And I realized for the first time, like if Rory, like if Paris and Asher stay together and Rory starts dating Leonard, that would make Paris Rory's mother-in-law.

But what we learned from Paris is that the Puffs have been number one, like the number one sorority at Chilton for the last 50 years.

Her mother was a Puff.

all right let's get into a little rory and paris roy's getting out of class paris walks in to talk to asher And she tells her Asher asked her to go to Oxford with him for the summer.

That's a big deal.

Rory gets panicked, phone call from Paris at the hospital.

She meets up with her, and she's freaking out.

Asher had angina.

And I think one of the funniest lines to ever come out of Paris' mouth is how skeeved out she was.

That this older guy just sort of, like, he just went limp, and he was like, his body just leaned on me.
