paraphilia

A paraphilia is considered a disorder when it causes distress or threatens to harm someone else.

A paraphilia can revolve around a particular object, i.e., children, animals, underwear, or a particular behavior, i.e., inflicting pain, exposing oneself, but it's distinguished by a preoccupation with the object or behavior to the point of being dependent on that object or behavior for sexual gratification.

Most paraphilias are far more common in men than in women, and the focus of a paraphilia is usually very specific and unchanging.

Paraphilias include sexual behavior society may view as distasteful, unusual, or abnormal." So some examples include pedophilia, voyeurism, watching and peeping, exhibitionism, flashing and exposing, frotteurism, rubbing up and down against someone and being sexually aroused, you know, the guys on the tubes or the buses or the trains.

Urophilia, urinating, coprophilia, defecating, and then necrophilia, which is what I flagged for consideration here in this case.

Yeah, there are many paraphilias, and with my psychology degrees, you learn this, but more importantly, you learn it working in the field.

When I worked in the sexual offenses section at New Scotland Yard, I came across so many mostly horrific things, one human being, normally a man, can subject another to, normally a woman or a child.

It's not easy work, and it's not for the faint-hearted.

Was the term that was really used?

Paraphilic infantilism.

So when we were researching a bit of the show, this episode, I should say, what was coming up for us with some of these distinctions did read a little differently, I will say.

And I just want to make sure that since we have you on that we're asking the right questions.

Paraphilia.

The intent of paraphilia is to produce sexual excitement by a twisted association between sex and another individual's body part, possession, or a situation involving the individual.

It is an imagination, fantasy, or a role play.
