I, yes.

I think it's both a repackaging of paranormal romance because they figured out that it doesn't really work to market paranormal romance as romanticy, which they tried to do.

And so this is kind of a new way to get vampires and werewolves and all of that.

And it's also just horror is having a moment.

Which is, like, true.

Like, sexism is definitely a thing.

But it also made me think about, in terms of, like, horror romance, a lot of, I think, horror romance has a lot of overlap with paranormal romance.

Just by nature of just subject matter.

This week, I wanted to highlight an interview from 2021 with paranormal romance writer, Lisa Kessler.

She talked about her love of writing this genre and how she uses tarot cards to help push herself through writer's block and also add depth to her characters.

I was worried about having the word woo woo in there.

And people thinking they had to write a paranormal romance and that they couldn't write anything else.

I would say so, yeah.

So, so we're, so we're going to Supernatural Romance.

And I decided I really wanted, I wanted to, we're going back in time to like pandemic TikTok.

Three priests, one angel, and one sex demon.

While this sounds like a great setup for a joke or an irreverent adult animated comedy, this is the premise of a paranormal romance that's destined to change everything you think you know about original sin.

When hell freezes over and Deva, the succubus, seeks sanctuary with three priests, it's a literal dream come true for these three repressed souls.

But when a debaucherous angel enters the picture, things don't just balance out.

I know my friend Heather Carson, who was on the show, she was writing Dystopia and Post-Apocalyptic.

And then she switched to Shifter Romance and she just added a middle initial K to her name.

And that was her separate pen name so that people could distinguish which version they were picking up.
