Paramananda

I had written a book.

It was a biography of our guru's guru, a biography of Swami Paramananda, who came to America in 1906, one of the pioneers of Eastern teachings in America, and I'd written a biography of him.

And my guru was very pleased with the book, and so she gave me two months and $2,000 to go anywhere in the world I wanted.

Now, at the ashram, when I first came to the ashram in 1970, we used to get $10 a month spending money.
